LoRaWAN or cellular: pick for the floor, not the slide.

A practical field note on when LoRaWAN wins, when 4G is cheaper, and why most plants end up with both.

The wrong question is 'which network is better'. The right question is which uplink survives your MCC room, your roof, and your opex.

LoRaWAN wins on dense, battery, and sites where pulling Ethernet is a shutdown. Cellular wins on roaming assets, sparse geography, and when you do not want to own a network server.

Most of our production sites run both: LoRaWAN on the floor, 4G on the gateways and the fleet. Sensoverse treats them as one device tree.
